Jennifer Coolidge is heading back to 'The Watcher.' The 'White Lotus' star will reprise her season one role as Karen Calhoun — yes, that kind of Karen — the real estate agent who sold the Brannock family the home that upended their lives in the first season of the Netflix hit.
Season one premiered four years ago, in 2022, and followed the Brannocks after they moved into what they believed was their dream house, only for it to turn into a nightmare once they began receiving ominous letters from a mysterious figure known as 'The Watcher.' The season dug further into the dark secrets lurking behind their seemingly polished suburban neighborhood.
Season two was renewed shortly after the first season's release, and it was recently confirmed that production is finally moving forward this fall in New York. The core Brannock family cast is returning alongside Coolidge: Naomi Watts as Nora Brannock, Bobby Cannavale as Dean Brannock, Margo Martindale as Maureen "Mo," and Isabel Gravitt as Ellie Brannock.
'The Watcher' was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, with Brennan serving as showrunner. The longtime collaborators currently also have 'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story' streaming on Netflix. The series draws from the New York Magazine article "The Haunting of a Dream House" by Reeves Wiedeman.
Executive producers on the series include Murphy, Brennan, Crystle Roberson Dorsey (who also serves as EP/director), Nissa Diederich, Karl Frankenfield, Scott Robertson, Todd Kubrak, Tanase Popa, Watts, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, Eric Newman, Bryan Unkeless and Max Winkler.
