How we make money

Last updated Oct 30, 2026

OnBackstage is free to read. Two things pay for it: ads, and affiliate links. This page explains how the affiliate side works.

What an affiliate link is

Some links and tools on our pages come from partners who pay us a small commission when you buy or book something through them. You never pay more because of it: the price is the same as going to the partner directly.

Where you will see them

  • Hotel maps and "Hotels near" links on tour and event guides. These are provided by Stay22. If you book a hotel or rental through one, we may earn a commission once your stay is complete.
  • "Get tickets" buttons on tour guides. They go to the official ticket seller for each show. When we work with that seller, we may earn a commission on tickets bought after the click.
  • Amazon links, such as "Watch on Prime Video" buttons and Prime sign-up links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Other streaming links, when we work with the service.

Each map or affiliate block says so right where it appears, and affiliate links are marked as sponsored for search engines.

What it does not change

Partners do not pay for coverage and do not see our articles before they are published. We decide what to write about, which dates and prices to list, and what to recommend, and we list free and official options even when they earn us nothing.

Cookies

Partner tools load only when you open them, for example by pressing "Show hotels" on a map. At that point the partner may set its own cookies to track the booking. You can review your choices at any time from Cookie settings in the footer; see our cookie policy for details.
