Eric Stonestreet — Eric Stonestreet Returns for 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2

Eric Stonestreet is heading back to "Dexter: Resurrection" for Season 2, confirming his return in a surprise appearance at the show's New York Comic-Con panel on Thursday.

Stonestreet joined a lineup of panelists that included Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Bokeem Woodbine and Krysten Ritter, alongside showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips and executive producers Scott Reynolds and Marcos Siega.

In Season 1, Stonestreet played Al Walker, a suburban family man secretly known as the serial killer Rapunzel. Al was one of several killers recruited into a group assembled by Leon Prater, and Dexter had marked him for death alongside the others. Al managed to slip away from New York and return to his ordinary suburban life before Dexter could catch up with him.

Season 2 of "Dexter: Resurrection" arrives Oct. 30 on Paramount+, available to subscribers on the Premium Plan. According to the show's official logline, the new season finds Dexter "caught between two killers – one notorious and the other terrorizing New York in ways no one ever anticipated – all while battling his greatest enemy yet: a mid-life crisis." Meanwhile, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, continues on his own path toward justice as father and son confront what the logline calls their "darkest chapter."

As previously reported, Brian Cox will appear as The New York Ripper, while Dan Stevens takes on the role of The Five Borough Killer. The expanded Season 2 cast also includes Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington and Gabriel Luna.

"Dexter: Resurrection" was developed by Clyde Phillips, who helmed the original "Dexter" series and returns as showrunner and executive producer. Michael C. Hall executive produces in addition to starring. The series' executive producer roster also includes Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. The show is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
