Quick answer

Metallica play 12 North American stadium shows on the M72 World Tour from May 8, 2027, in Vancouver to June 19 in Salt Lake City, with Limp Bizkit and Avatar opening every night. Tickets have been on general sale through Ticketmaster since Sept. 25, 2026.

Metallica take the M72 World Tour back to North American stadiums in spring 2027, two months after their Sphere residency in Las Vegas ends. The leg runs from Vancouver on May 8 to Salt Lake City on June 19, with one show in each of 12 cities and Limp Bizkit and Avatar on every bill.

Below are all the dates with ticket links and hotels near each stadium for the night of the show, then what to know about the openers and tickets.

Metallica 2027 tour dates

What to expect at an M72 show

M72 is played in the round. The band performs on a ring-shaped stage in the middle of the stadium floor, with the "Snake Pit" of fans standing inside the ring and eight tall towers covered in video screens around it. Lars Ulrich has four drum kits, one facing each direction, and the band moves around the ring during the night.

The setlist

Single-night M72 shows mix songs from 72 Seasons with the classics. This is what Metallica played at the first single show of the 2025 North American leg, at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse on April 19, 2025:

  1. Creeping Death
  2. For Whom the Bell Tolls
  3. Hit the Lights
  4. King Nothing
  5. Lux Æterna
  6. Screaming Suicide
  7. Kirk and Rob doodle
  8. The Day That Never Comes
  9. Fuel
  10. Orion
  11. Nothing Else Matters
  12. Sad but True
  13. One
  14. Seek & Destroy
  15. Master of Puppets
  16. Enter Sandman

The middle of the set changes from show to show, so a 2027 night won't match this list exactly.

Who's opening: Limp Bizkit and Avatar

Limp Bizkit and Avatar are on all 12 shows, so there is no need to pick a city for a particular support act. Fred Durst's Limp Bizkit already opened six M72 stadium shows in 2025, in Toronto, Nashville, Philadelphia, Tampa, Santa Clara and Denver. Avatar are a Swedish metal band fronted by Johannes Eckerström.

Each city gets a single night; unlike the two-night stands earlier on the M72 tour, there is no "No Repeat Weekend" here.

How to get tickets

Presales for fan club members, Citi cardholders and Verizon customers ran Sept. 21–24, 2026, and the general sale opened on Sept. 25. The ticket buttons above go to each show's Ticketmaster page; Vancouver is sold on Ticketmaster Canada.

Stadium shows draw fans from far away, and hotels near the venue fill up first. The hotel links above search for the night of the show around each stadium.
