Paramount has locked in release dates for two horror sequels, an untitled follow-up to "Crawl" and "Heart Eyes 2."
The new "Crawl" movie, starring Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd, is set to hit theaters July 16, 2027. Alexandre Aja, who directed the 2019 original and turned it into a box office breakout, returns to direct the sequel. Aja is also producing alongside Craig Flores and Sam Raimi, with Gregory Levasseur, Kevan Van Thompson and Zainab Azizi serving as executive producers. The screenplay comes from Jason Harry Pagan & Andrew Deutschman and Aja & Gregory Levasseur.
"Heart Eyes 2," centered on the masked Heart Eyes Killer who strikes each Valentine's Day, has had its release date bumped up a week to Feb. 4, 2028. The film had previously been slated for Feb. 11. Paramount Pictures is co-producing and co-financing the sequel with Spyglass Media Group, and will handle worldwide distribution. The first "Heart Eyes" film, distributed by Sony Pictures in 2025, grossed $33 million at the global box office on an $18 million budget.
