Australian indie sensations Lime Cordiale are taking their love for live music and environmental stewardship to a whole new level with a groundbreaking event designed to redefine how festivals interact with the planet.
On April 18th, 2026, Point Malcolm Reserve in Semaphore, Adelaide will host the inaugural Lime Green Festival — a one-day, climate-driven festival experience that blends unforgettable performances with powerful sustainability action.
🔌 A Festival Powered by Innovation (Not Fossil Fuels)
Rather than relying on traditional grid electricity, Lime Green aims to run its main stage entirely off-grid through a partnership with renewable power specialist Aggreko, using industrial-scale batteries supported by vegetable-oil generators. This marks one of the first serious attempts to operate a festival on low-impact energy systems.
Beyond power, the event promises extensive green practices, including:
- Elimination of single-use plastics
- Reusable infrastructure and packaging
- Solar and bike-powered device charging stations
- Promotion of low-emission transport choices
- Curated, carbon-neutral food vendors with surplus donation programs
- Upcycled merchandise, including items made from seaweed and other sustainable materials
🎶 Music Meets Climate Action
This isn’t just another concert — Lime Green blends high-quality musical performances with real environmental engagement. The festival will feature a mix of established acts and rising stars:
- Lime Cordiale (festival hosts)
- The Dreggs
- aleksiah
- PASH
- Plus, additional emerging talent selected through local partnerships and the triple j Unearthed program.
Alongside live music, interactive talks, workshops and community activations will spotlight regenerative leadership and climate innovation — giving attendees tools, inspiration and ideas for a more sustainable future.
📣 A Bigger Purpose: Empowering Change
Every ticket comes with a contribution to the Solar Slice initiative, a world-leading environmental ticketing model that directs $1 from each sale to science-based climate and nature projects. For Lime Green, these funds will support community-led climate responses in South Australia, with a focus on combating the state’s ongoing algal bloom challenges.
📅 Tickets & What to Expect
- Pre-sale: Starts 9 AM AEDT, January 21
- General Sale: Opens 9 AM AEDT, January 23
The event is fully licensed and open to all ages.
