October 2026 opened with Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington at Netflix's world premiere of "Animals" at Directors Village in Los Angeles on Oct. 1. The political thriller centers on a Los Angeles mayoral candidate, played by Affleck, whose family is pulled into an unimaginable situation involving their son and their housekeeper, along with her undocumented immigrant boyfriend.
A day later, the Critics Choice Association held its 6th Annual Celebración of Cinema & Television at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on Oct. 2. John Leguizamo gave a tear-filled acceptance speech after receiving the Career Achievement Award, and was photographed on the carpet with Laysla De Oliveira. Other honorees at the event included Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, who won the Director Award for "La Bola Negra," alongside Julio Torres, as well as Aimee Carrero, who took home the Supporting Actress Award – Series for "Your Friends & Neighbors," pictured with Da'Vine Joy Randolph.
That same day in New York, Pedro Pascal walked the red carpet with director Tony Gilroy at the New York Film Festival for the world premiere of their drama "Behemoth!"
Other October highlights included Sarah Jessica Parker and Stevie Nicks at the New York City Ballet's 2026 Fall Fashion Gala at Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center on Oct. 1, and Noah Centineo at the "Street Fighter" photocall at the Leake Street Arches in London that same day. Sylvester Stallone appeared at the 92NY for a conversation tied to his memoir, "The Steps: A Memoir," while Guillermo del Toro, Ivana Baquero and Doug Jones gathered at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles for a 25th anniversary screening of "Pan's Labyrinth."
On Oct. 3, Greg Berlanti was joined by his "Dawson's Creek" castmates Joshua Jackson, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson at The Barbara Berlanti "Heroes Gala" benefitting F Cancer at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar. The same day in Malaga, Spain, Disney's "Hall M" event at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos featured Winston Duke, Anthony Mackie and David Harbour presenting "Avengers: Doomsday," while Austin Abrams, Brian Duffield and Josh Brolin presented "Whalefall." Also that weekend, Romy marked Austin City Limits with Patrón Tequila's Frozen Headliner Margarita and a surprise DJ set at the Hacienda Patrón.
Paris Fashion Week brought its own round of appearances on Oct. 4, with Joey King and Maude Apatow at the Miu Miu show and Taylor Zakhar Perez at the Lacoste presentation.
