Madonna's "Danceteria" jumped from No. 6 to No. 1 on Billboard's Oct. 3-dated Dance Airplay chart, marking her 10th career leader on the tally and her third from the album Confessions II.
Released July 3 alongside the album itself, "Danceteria" climbed to the top after a 34% increase in plays among the chart's 24/7 dance reporters during the Sept. 18-24 tracking week, according to Luminate.
The song follows two other Confessions II singles to the Dance Airplay summit: "I Feel So Free," which became Madonna's first No. 1 radio hit in 18 years, and "Love Sensation."
With this latest chart-topper, Madonna passes Ellie Goulding for the fifth-most No. 1s in the history of the Dance Airplay chart, which launched in 2003. She still trails David Guetta (21), Calvin Harris (19), Rihanna (12) and The Chainsmokers (11).
"Danceteria" also marks Warner Records' fourth Dance Airplay No. 1 of 2026, tying Republic Records for the most among all labels this year. Warner's other 2026 leaders include Jennifer Lopez and David Guetta's "Save Me Tonight," which topped the chart in May, alongside Madonna's "I Feel So Free" and "Love Sensation." Warner also notched four Dance Airplay No. 1s in 2025, and previously led all labels with seven in 2024 and four in 2023.
Madonna has continued to expand the song's reach beyond the original version, releasing a remix with Harry Romero on Aug. 21, followed by a reimagined take featuring Charli xcx, titled "Danceteria Afterhours," on Sept. 24.
The success builds on a landmark year for Madonna. Confessions II gave her a 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 when it debuted in July, opening with 134,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States — her biggest week by units since the Billboard 200 adopted that methodology in December 2014. Combined with her 12 No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100, Madonna became just the fourth act to reach double digits on both charts, joining The Beatles, Drake and Taylor Swift.
