Ariana Grande capped off her 2026 Eternal Sunshine Tour with an unexpected mishap, revealing she got trapped in an elevator just moments after her final show. The 33-year-old pop star and actress shared more than a dozen photos on Instagram Saturday (Sept. 12) documenting the end of the tour, which wrapped Sept. 1 at London's O2 Arena.
Among the images was a black-and-white photo showing Grande and team member CJ Robinson attempting to pry open the elevator doors. "Stuck in an elevator moments after our final show," the "7 Rings" singer captioned the shot. A second photo showed her boyfriend, Ricky Álvarez, joining the effort to free them, with Grande captioning it, "Continued (i almost had it tbh)."
Robinson responded in the comments section, writing that she "wouldn't want to be stuck in an elevator with anyone else xoxo."
Grande announced the select run of tour dates in August 2025 in support of her 2024 album, Eternal Sunshine, which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The North American arena tour launched June 6 in Oakland, Calif., before making stops in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Montreal, ultimately closing out with the 10-show run at the O2 Arena.
The elevator incident capped a turbulent stretch for the Wicked star. In early August, Grande announced she was taking "a step back" from public engagements amid "ongoing public scrutiny," a decision that led her to withdraw from the planned West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George, in which she had been set to co-star.
Despite the pullback, Grande has kept up a steady release schedule. She put out her eighth studio album, petal, in July, and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In early September, she surprise-released petal (The Complete Live Album), featuring live performances of every track from the studio release.
