Jude Law and Scarlett Johansson are attached to star in an untitled new film from director Ari Aster, though the specifics of the project remain closely guarded. Deadline first reported earlier this year that the film would mark Aster's next directorial effort following his movie Eddington, a project he reportedly took his time settling on.
While the plot has not been officially disclosed, speculation has swirled around several possibilities. Some sources suggest the story centers on a doctor who operates on an internet-famous person, while others believe it could be a sci-fi romance or a more conventional drama for Aster. According to insiders, there is currently no consensus on which version of these details is accurate.
The project arrives during a particularly active stretch for Law. Over the past 12 months, he has appeared in the Star Wars series The Skeleton Crew and the Emmy-nominated Netflix limited series Black Rabbit, and portrayed Vladimir Putin in The Wizard of the Kremlin. He is next set to star in the Apple limited series Wild Things, playing Vegas performer Siegfried opposite Andrew Garfield. Law has also recently wrapped production on a new movie from Nancy Meyers.
