Marvel has cast Kit Connor as Cyclops, filling a role that had previously been rumored to go to Germann, according to a report. Reps for Marvel could not be reached for comment on the casting.
The news arrives alongside renewed attention on another classic member of the X-Men roster, Angel. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963, the character — born Warren Worthington III — was introduced in the first issue of X-Men in 1964. Angel is distinguished by his large, feathered wings, which allow him to fly, and in the comics he initially conceals his mutation before eventually joining Professor Xavier's team.
In later comic storylines, Angel's wings are mutilated by the villain Apocalypse, who replaces them with metallic wings and transforms him into a darker, blue-skinned version of the character known as Archangel.
