Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande Reunite in New Project

Jonathan Bailey has officially confirmed that he will reunite with Ariana Grande for a brand-new project — and excitement is already building among theatre and film fans worldwide.

The two stars previously captivated audiences as Fiyero and Glinda in the Wicked film adaptations, with the second installment hitting cinemas last year. Now, it appears their creative partnership is far from over.

A Long-Rumored Collaboration Becomes Reality

Speculation first surfaced late last year suggesting Bailey and Grande could join forces again — this time on the London stage. According to early reports, the duo were being considered for a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at the Barbican Centre.

That buzz has now turned into confirmation.

The production is officially moving forward, with acclaimed director Marianne Elliott attached to helm the revival. Tickets are expected to go on sale in May 2026, while performances are scheduled to begin in summer 2027 at London’s iconic Barbican.

A Tease That Set Social Media Alight

Bailey marked the announcement with a carefully chosen Instagram post, sharing an image of himself and Grande seated in front of Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte — the painting that famously inspired Sondheim’s musical.

In the caption, Bailey referenced a line from the show, writing simply: “All it has to be is good.”

The post quickly drew reactions from across the entertainment world. Heartstopper actor Joe Locke flooded the comments with enthusiastic approval, while Broadway legend Lea Salonga summed up the collective shock with: “Oh my goodness WHAT IS HAPPENING?!”

Stage star Marisha Wallace also joined the fun, sharing a reaction meme featuring Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo in disbelief.

Grande Speaks Out on Recent Awards Snubs

Elsewhere, Ariana Grande recently addressed the conversation surrounding awards season, after Cynthia Erivo was notably overlooked for an Actor Award nomination for her performance in For Good, despite Grande receiving a nod herself.

In a heartfelt statement, Grande praised Erivo’s portrayal, calling it “the most truthful, vulnerable and fierce Elphaba we’ve ever seen,” adding that its legacy would endure regardless of awards recognition.

She also voiced strong support for Wicked director Jon M. Chu following his omission from the Directors Guild of America Awards, describing his work as transformative and emotionally resonant.

According to Grande, the film’s impact — and Erivo’s performance — will be felt for decades to come.

What Comes Next

With anticipation already soaring, the Bailey–Grande reunion promises to be one of the most talked-about stage events in the coming years. As more details emerge, fans will be watching closely to see how this highly anticipated collaboration takes shape.
