Amber Mark made her first appearance at Lollapalooza on Sunday, delivering a set in Chicago that had the crowd jumping and singing along from start to finish. Her performance stood alongside a 2026 lineup that included Charli XCX, Lorde and The Smashing Pumpkins.
Mark opened the set by shouting to the crowd, "Y'all ready to sing something? Y'all ready to dance?!" The audience responded immediately, and she moved through a setlist that included some of her most popular songs — "Lose My Cool," "Sweet Serotonin" and "By The End of the Night."
Ahead of the show, Mark reflected on the milestone while running errands through Chicago: "I've been dreaming of doing Lollapalooza pretty much all of my career."
Mark's musical journey began in Berlin, where her mother, German painter Mia Mark, gave her her first guitar. She taught herself to play using YouTube tutorials and hours of practice. Her childhood took her between New York, India, Berlin and Miami, an upbringing she says shaped her outlook: "Every place has a different sky," she said, a remark made while admiring the panoramic moonroof of her 2026 Toyota RAV4 Limited.
Her career formally launched a decade ago when she uploaded her debut single, "Space," to SoundCloud while interning at Roc Nation. Her first EP, 3:33 AM, was written as a tribute to her late mother, blending musical styles from the places they lived together while exploring grief and longing. The project helped her build a loyal and growing fanbase.
Mark's profile rose further when she opened for Sabrina Carpenter's Short N' Sweet tour, a run that coincided with the release of her second studio album, Pretty Idea. She has said long car rides remain central to her creative process, and she relies on the RAV4 Limited's JBL Premium Audio System to fully immerse herself in her music while traveling.
Toyota, a longtime partner of Lollapalooza, offered festivalgoers experiences including the Toyota Music Den and activations featuring vehicles from six generations of Toyota SUVs during the 2026 event.
