Sarah J. Maas Reveals Titles for ACOTAR Books 6 and 7

Sarah J. Maas has revealed the titles and cover art for the sixth and seventh installments of her best-selling "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series. Book 6, titled "A Court of Splintered Harmony," is set for release on Oct. 27, while Book 7, "A Court of Forgotten Melody," will follow on Jan. 12, 2027. Both novels are published by Bloomsbury.

The two books together form what Maas is calling "The Valkyrie Cycle," with "A Court of Splintered Harmony" marking "Movement I" and "A Court of Forgotten Melody" covering "Movements II and III." Alongside the covers, Maas shared brief taglines for each book: "What was broken will be remade" for Book 6, and "What was lost will be reclaimed" for Book 7.

Maas made the announcement through two consecutive Instagram posts, timed to coincide with digital billboards that went up simultaneously in Los Angeles, Denver and New York City.

The "ACOTAR" series follows sisters Feyre, Nesta and Elain Archeron amid the faerie realm of Prythian. It currently includes five books: "A Court of Thorns and Roses," "A Court of Mist and Fury," "A Court of Wings and Ruin," "A Court of Frost and Starlight" and "A Court of Silver Flames."

A television adaptation of the series had been in development since 2021 at Disney's 20th Television and Hulu, with Ronald D. Moore attached as showrunner working alongside Maas. That project was scrapped in February 2025 due to creative differences, and the adaptation rights have since reverted back to Maas.

Beyond "A Court of Thorns and Roses," Maas is also known for the "Throne of Glass" and "Crescent City" series. Combined, her works have sold more than 85 million copies in English and have been published in 40 languages.
