Lana Del Rey Sparks Buzz With Surprise Single Announcement Ahead of New Album

Lana Del Rey has offered fans a fresh glimpse into her long-anticipated next musical chapter — and it includes a new song, a mysterious release date tease, and a family-driven creative process.

Over the weekend, the singer shared a short message on social media revealing details about a track she describes as her personal favorite from her forthcoming album, currently known as Stove. In the clip, Lana Del Rey mentioned that the song — titled “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter” — is set to arrive on the 17th, though she didn’t specify the month. Given the timing of the post, many listeners believe the release is imminent.

A collaborative creative process

According to Lana Del Rey, the single was crafted alongside producers Drew Erickson and Jack Antonoff, with whom she spent time refining the song’s sonic direction. She explained that the collaboration ultimately led them to discover the musical element she felt the track had been missing.

Songwriting credits extend beyond the studio team. Del Rey revealed that she worked on the lyrics with her husband Jeremy Dufrene, as well as members of her family, including her sister Caroline “Chuck” Grant and her brother-in-law. Final mixing duties were handled by Dean Reid and Laura Sisk, highlighting the project’s combination of personal input and industry expertise.

DIY visuals already completed

The artist also confirmed that a music video for the track is finished. Rather than relying on a large production team, she indicated that the visuals were created independently — a process she noted still required extensive editing and technical work behind the scenes.

Album timeline begins to take shape

While the single appears close to release, Del Rey suggested her full album may still be months away. She hinted that vinyl manufacturing timelines are influencing scheduling, estimating a rough window that could place the record’s arrival sometime in the near future.

The project has gone through multiple transformations since it was first introduced. Initially announced in early 2024 as a country-leaning album titled Lasso, the record later evolved under different names — including The Right Person Will Stay — before ultimately becoming Stove. One track, “Henry, Come On” surfaced in 2025 as an early preview of its direction.

Del Rey has previously said the songs turned out to be more personal and reflective than expected, which contributed to delays as she reshaped the material. She also acknowledged that country influences play a significant role in the sound, a direction she had considered years before the genre’s recent resurgence among mainstream artists.

Anticipation builds

With a new single teased, visuals already shot, and an album release window gradually coming into focus, anticipation surrounding Del Rey’s next era continues to grow. Fans now await confirmation of the exact drop date — and a first listen to what could signal her most country-infused project yet.
