Bruno Mars Announces ‘The Romantic’ Album: Release Date, Tracklist & Chart Records

After years of speculation about his next solo chapter, Bruno Mars is officially stepping back into the spotlight with a brand-new studio album. Titled The Romantic, the nine-track project is scheduled for release on February 27, marking his first solo LP since 2016’s 24K Magic.

A Long-Awaited Solo Return

It’s been nearly a decade since Mars last delivered a solo studio album, making The Romantic one of the most anticipated pop releases of the year. While he remained highly visible through collaborations and live performances, fans have been waiting for a full-length solo body of work — and now they finally have a date circled on their calendars.

The album will be led by “I Just Might,” which made an explosive debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The achievement marked Mars’ first-ever No. 1 debut on the chart and his 10th overall Hot 100 chart-topper — reinforcing his status as one of the most consistent hitmakers of the past decade.

Momentum at an All-Time High

Mars enters this new era riding an extraordinary wave of global success. His duet with Lady Gaga, “Die With a Smile,” dominated the Billboard Global 200 for 18 weeks and went on to secure a Grammy Award, further cementing his cross-generational appeal.

He also scored a massive international hit with ROSÉ on “APT.” The track spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and 12 weeks atop the Global 200. It was later recognized as IFPI’s biggest-selling global single of 2025 and became Apple Music’s most-streamed song worldwide that year.

In early 2025, Mars made streaming history by becoming the first artist ever to surpass 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify — a milestone that reflects both his catalog strength and ongoing cultural relevance.

Diamond-Level Legacy

Beyond current chart dominance, Mars’ catalog continues to break certification records. He was the first artist to earn six RIAA Diamond-certified singles and has since expanded that number to at least seven.

Among his Diamond-certified classics:

  • “Just the Way You Are” (21x Platinum — the highest-certified song in RIAA history)

  • “Uptown Funk” (with Mark Ronson)

  • “Grenade”

  • “That’s What I Like”

  • “Locked Out of Heaven”

  • “When I Was Your Man”

  • “The Lazy Song”

Across his career, Mars has logged 35 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including 10 No. 1 hits. His debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, remains one of the most enduring releases of the modern pop era, spending more than 345 weeks on the Billboard 200 — the longest run for a studio album by a solo male artist.

‘The Romantic’ Tracklist

The upcoming album will feature nine songs:

  1. Risk It All
  2. Cha Cha Cha
  3. I Just Might
  4. God Was Showing Off
  5. Why You Wanna Fight?
  6. On My Soul
  7. Something Serious
  8. Nothing Left
  9. Dance With Me

With a title like The Romantic, fans are already speculating whether the project will lean into soulful ballads, funk-infused grooves, or a new sonic direction altogether. Given Mars’ track record of blending retro influences with modern pop precision, expectations are sky-high.

Pre-orders and exclusive vinyl editions are now available ahead of the Feb. 27 release date.
