Tim McGraw took an unexpected spill onstage during a Thursday concert in Cincinnati as part of his Pawn Shop Guitar Tour, but the country star brushed it off with humor rather than letting it derail the show. Video from the performance shows McGraw's cowboy boot catching in a crevice on the stage, sending him to the ground before he popped back up and continued singing without pause.
McGraw addressed the fall directly on Instagram, sharing a photo gallery from the Cincinnati show with a caption poking fun at himself: "Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn't stay on mine. We appreciate you coming out and singing along! Detroit, you're up!"
Fans quickly weighed in on the post. One commenter wrote, "I bet your daughters blew up the family group chat," while another joked, "bubble wrap him for tonight." A third praised McGraw's composure, writing, "SO GLAD YOU DIDN'T HURT YOURSELF! YOU ARE A REAL PRO YOU JUMPED RIGHT UP AND DIDN'T EVEN MISS A BEAT."
The Pawn Shop Guitar Tour launched in mid-July and has featured support from The Chicks, Lady A, 49 Winchester and Timothy Wayne on select dates. The North American run is set to conclude Sept. 29 in West Palm Beach, Florida, after which McGraw will move to Las Vegas for a five-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in October.
While McGraw did not mention the death of Dolly Parton during Thursday's Cincinnati concert, he had paid tribute to the country icon earlier in the week on social media. "She was an icon and showed us all what was possible, not only as a human but as an entertainer," he wrote on Instagram. "She was the blueprint, head and shoulders above anyone that came before her and all those of us that have come after." Parton died on Aug. 25 following what her team described as a "brief battle with cancer."
